Pokemon fans are hyped following the release of the Detective Pikachu trailer on Nov 12.  The movie is a nod to the Detective Pikachu Episode O – Eevee’s Case game for Nintendo 3DS released in the West in early 2018. Ryan Reynolds, who lends his voice to “Pikachu”, tweeted the trailer out this morning along with the official twitter account for the Pokemon Detective Pikachu movie.  Warner Bros is scheduled to release the movie in May 2019, making it the first Pokemon film to have a major film release since the 2001 release of Pokemon 3: The Movie. Reynolds is joined by cast mates, Justice Smith as Tim Goodman, Kathryn Newton as Lucy Stevens, and Ken Watanabe as Detective Yoshida.

As if the trailer wasn’t enough, fans were treated to the first Detective Pikachu movie poster giving us all the vibes of a seedy, neon covered landscape with our hero, Pikachu, dwarfed in the heart of it.  This movie looks to be a mix of kid and parent friendly humor, the perfect blend for a summer hit.
