Supernatural fans everywhere were justifiably outraged when we got Richard Speight Jr., back as the Gabriel in Season 13 only for the archangel to be killed off again in the same season. But not to worry! That’s not it for Richard Speight, Jr. and Supernatural.

Though we may not get him back on our screen, he posted on Instagram yesterday letting us know that he’s back at work behind the scenes! That’s right, Richard Speight Jr. started his first day of prep on set for Supernatural Season 14, Episode 6.

Richard Speight, Jr. has already directed the second episode in Season 14, and with other fan-favorite episodes “Unfinished Business” in Season 13 and “Stuck In The Middle (With You)” in Season 12 under his belt, we already know to expect great things when he’s in charge!

Supernatural Season 14 is set to premiere on Thursday, October 11, 2018 on the CW.
