Share

The long-awaited Kingdom Hearts III has an official release date! Developed through Square Enix, the action role-playing game will be released January 29, 2019 for the Playstation 4 and Xbox One platforms. This will be the first official sequel to Kingdom Hearts II, which was released back in 2005.

This release date was announced ahead of the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), which will take place June 12 – June 14, 2018 in Los Angeles, CA at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Along with the announcement of a release date, it was also announced that there will be more information and a few trailers for the game at E3.

The series, which is a big crossover with Disney, follows the main character, Sora, and has appearances of many Disney characters, such as Donald Duck and Goofy. Characters from Final Fantasy, another franchise from Square Enix, make appearances as well. Each world seen in the game has a specific theme that directly correlates to Disney, like Halloween Town from The Nightmare Before Christmas, which is one of the many worlds included in the first game in the series, Kingdom Hearts.
