The Magicians is an amazing series already- no questions asked. It features seven (more or less) unlikely heroes embarking upon the journey of their lifetime(s) to save worlds, discover themselves, and unveil the true meaning of magic. There’s very little to ask for that the series has not already delivered. One thing’s for certain though- they are breaking out all the stops when it comes to their latest casting decision.

We’re incredibly excited to see Felicia Day (Supernatural, The Guild, Mystery Science Theater 3000, Doctor Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog, etc.) adding to the already brilliant cast of The Magicians for Season 3.
Readers of Lev Grossman’s series of the same name will recognize her character, Poppy, from the novels. For those who haven’t read the books- here’s what we currently know about Day’s character: she is a dragon expert, and she’s coming to help our heroes in a time of great need.
Casting Day is another great addition of female representation for the show- which already features an impressive cast of empowered women, who are saving the world right beside the men, even outnumbering them. Judging by Day’s excitement and love for the show- we’re hoping that this is a great chance for her to shine as she does best- as our favorite nerdy heroine.
“I am thrilled to join The Magicians this season,” Day said in an exclusive interview with Nerdist, “The show is one of my favorites, the cast is incredible to work with, and showrunner, Sera Gamble, is one of my Hollywood heroes. I can’t wait for fans to meet Poppy!”
Day previously worked with showrunner Gamble on Supernatural. We remain incredibly excited and optimistic as to what Felicia Day will bring to The Magicians with Poppy. Season 3 of The Magicians is currently airing on SyFy on Wednesdays at 9/8c.
