J.J. Abrams to Return to ‘Star Wars’ for Episode IX

In Star Wars news, it was announced that J.J. Abrams will return to the Star Wars universe, to write and direct the final film in the sequel trilogy – Episode IX.

This comes after Colin Trevorrow was announced to have exited the project last week. J.J. wrote and directed Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which launched the sequel trilogy.

tar Wars: Episode IX is scheduled for release on December 20, 2019.
