SeaWorld Announces New Attractions & Encounters for 2017!

SeaWorld has announced new attractions and encounters for 2017!

SeaWorld San Antonio

Wave Breaker: The Rescue Coaster™ coming to SeaWorld® San Antonio
In the summer of 2017, SeaWorld will unveil a new coaster at SeaWorld® San Antonio. The Wave Breaker will be inspired by jet skiing across a body of water. The design will have riders in a straddled seating position, allowing them to lean into banked turns and grip handlebars.

Sea Rescue®
Sea Rescue® will be a coaster where riders can race alongside the animal care team and veterinarians as they help rescue animals in distress. It will bring “awareness to the brave efforts of the SeaWorld animal teams as they join forces with organizations around the world to help ill, injured, orphaned and abandoned animals.”

SeaWorld San Diego

Ocean Explorer
Ocean Explorer will combine aquariums, rides and digital technologies.

(From SeaWorld):

In the signature attraction for the realm, called Submarine Quest, guests will be adventurers on a global expedition of scientific exploration, travelling aboard submarines to see Ocean Explorer’s remarkable undersea animals. Embarking on these mini subs, visitors will become researchers on a mission to collect data and learn how they can help protect animals. This three-minute experience will include an onboard digital navigation dashboard, as well as a few other surprises along the journey, enhancing the riders’ understanding of our fragile ocean ecosystem.

The heart and destination of Ocean Explorer will be a series of undersea research bases housing specially-designed aquariums and interactive activities displaying unique as well as elusive ocean animals like giant octopuses, huge spider crabs and dozens of moray eels – some of which have never been seen at the park before.

New Orca Encounter
SeaWorld has announced previously that they will be introducing new Orca encounters and it starts with San Diego. The encounter will show how they act in the wild and look at research, rescue, and more.

SeaWorld Orlando

Dolphin Nursery
SeaWorld Orlando will get a more interactive Dolphin nursery in 2017, with better viewing and education tools about the way dolphins live.

Kraken Virtual Reality
The Kraken roller coaster will be turned in to a virtual reality experience for guests to experience.
