2 Min Read

The highly anticipated This Is Us premiered on NBC last night. The series stars Mandy Moore, Milo Ventimiglia, Sterling K. Brown, Susan Kelechi Watson, Chrissy Metz and Justin Hartley.

The episode follows three different stories – Rebecca (Moore) and Jack (Ventimiglia) who are celebrating Jack’s birthday as Rebecca is pregnant with triplets. Kate (Metz) is struggling with her weight on her birthday and her brother Kevin (Hartley) is a TV Actor, struggling with his role. Randall (Brown) is celebrating his birthday and trying to find his biological father.

This show really strikes a chord with the audience because the stories are relatable – from a couple having a baby to a woman struggling with weight, to an employee unhappy with his work situation and a parent trying to find out what happened to his own father.

This star-studded cast delivers, too. The performances are fantastic and the actors really make you feel for them and their situations and there are many stand-out moments in this episode. There’s a twist at the end of the episode that is fantastic and one you don’t see coming.

(We won’t spoil what happens – you’ll have to watch the show!)
