Graduation has come and gone, and it is now time to look towards the future. Last night’s new episode of Riverdale saw the gang graduating high school and ended with a tease for the seven-year time jump, as Jughead waited in a booth at Pop’s for his friends to arrive for their reunion a year after high school. But they never showed. Jughead then said it would be another six years before he saw his friends again, until another mystery brought them back to town. The CW has released a new trailer for season 5, post-time jump, with the gang now in their 20s.
Check out the trailer below!
Hiram has seemingly taken over Riverdale, and Archie and Toni are teaming up to take it back. And what is Riverdale without yet another serial killer on the loose? A masked man with a chainsaw looks to be coming towards Betty, who is now an FBI Agent In Training. Toni tells Archie that a lot has changed since they graduated high school, but the question is what and exactly how much?
Riverdale will be jumping seven years into the future starting with this Wednesday’s episode, “Chapter Eighty: Purgatorio.” You can check out a first look at photos here. Riverdale airs every Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT on The CW, streaming free the next day on The CW app.
