Things are getting heated in season 2 of FOX’s 9-1-1: Lone Star! In a brand new promo that just released, Captain Owen Strand welcomes new Paramedic Captain Tommy Vega, played by Suits alum Gina Torres, to the 126, saying they’re going to have a lot of fun together. “Oh, I bet we will.” Owen is soon going through the station telling everyone to check and double check their equipment. He doesn’t want any surprises out there. Meanwhile, a call at a pool party ends in disaster as lava is coming up from the bottom of the pool, Tommy says it could be a mass casualty event and someone yells “incoming” as a small volcano erupts and a lava rock is coming at someone from the 126, hitting them directly.

It was announced earlier this month that 9-1-1: Lone Star, and its predecessor, 9-1-1, will be premiering on Monday, January 18, airing back-to-back for the first time ever. Over the weekend, showrunner Tim Minear shared a first look at the highly-anticipated crossover between the two shows, with a photo of TK and Marjan from the 126 standing beside Buck and Eddie from the 118, although no details about the crossover have yet to be released.

Season 2 of 9-1-1: Lone Star premieres on Monday, January 18 at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT following season 4 of 9-1-1 only on FOX. Season 1 is currently streaming on Hulu and the FOX NOW app.
