Odette Annable Joins the Cast of The CW’s Upcoming ‘Walker’

As we get closer and closer to yee haw time, more details about the Jared Padalecki led series Walker are being released, including casting news. The latest addition to the cast is Odette Annable, who was a season regular in Supergirl‘s third season as Samantha Arias/Reign.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Annable will hold a recurring role in Walker as Geri, a bartender at local dive Side Step. She is a friend of Walker and his late wife Emily (played by Genevieve Padalecki), but hasn’t seen Walker since Emily’s funeral. Geri and Walker have a clear history with each other: “a friendship and a shared tragedy.”

Walker is a reboot of the long-running Walker, Texas Ranger and will see Jared Padalecki saddle up in the title role. The show will focus on Cordell Walker, a widower and father of two who returns to his home in Austin, Texas after being undercover for two years. The show was created by Anna Fricke, and Padalecki will serve as an executive producer. Genevieve Padalecki, Jeff Pierre, Keegan Allen, Mitch Pileggi, Molly Hagan, and Violet Brinson will also star in the show.

Walker premieres on The CW on Thursday, January 21 at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT. Make sure to grab your cowboy hats and polish your spurs.
