The first live-action Star Wars series, The Mandalorian, premiered on Disney+ last November. As the arrival of the highly anticipated second season is rapidly approaching, we’re reflecting back on the eight epic episodes that made up the first season.
The Mandalorian follows a mysterious lone bounty hunter who traverses the outer reaches of a post-Empire galaxy. Throughout the course of season 1, he acquires a bounty that turns into more of a sidekick, properly known as the Child but cheekily referred to by fans as Baby Yoda.
Despite the fact that it follows a new, smaller story separate from that of the films, the show was met with critical acclaim as it drew in both new and old fans alike week after week. Outside of the beautiful sets and cinematography, the fantastic costumes, and the beloved green puppet, The Mandalorian finds much of its strength in its compelling lead, Pedro Pascal’s Din Djarin. He’s a skilled, complex, loyal, and intriguing character, and he’s got quite a bit to say. We’ve compiled some of our favorite Din Djarin quotes from season 1, which range from dangerous to downright sassy.
“I can bring you in warm … or I can bring you in cold.”
Pro tip if you’re one of Din’s bounties: don’t even bother trying to negotiate. And also, don’t steal his line (we’re looking at you, Riot Mar.)
“I like those odds.”
He’s a man of utmost confidence, and we support it.
“Do not self-destruct. We’re shooting our way out.”
Even when he’s heavily outnumbered, with nothing more than a droid to rely on, Din Djarin does not give up. Period.
“I’m a Mandalorian. Weapons are part of my religion.”
So perhaps he’s a bit attached to his rifle … can you blame him?
“You understand this!?” *FLAMETHROWER”
Pro tip #2: Don’t make fun of Din Djarin.
“You want some soup?”
What else is there to say when your tiny green sidekick interrupts your brawl with a stranger?
“Bad news. You can’t live here anymore.”
Din Djarin — a man of truly eloquent words.
“You expect me to search the galaxy for the home of this creature and deliver it to a race of enemy sorcerers?”
There’s just something that hits different about sassily referring to the Jedi as a “race of enemy sorcerers.”
“This is the Way.”
Enough said.
