Mars, an animated feature film by the comedy troupe The Whitest Kids U Know, is kicking off a screening tour with a stop in Los Angeles at the Alamo Drafthouse on February 20, in partnership with Synergetic Distribution.
Originally premiering at the Tribeca Film Festival, several cast members will join each city on the stop before the film rolls out to a wider theatrical release on March 13, with streaming occurring concurrently.
The Whitest Kids U Know was formed at the School of Visual Arts in New York City, and members Trevor Moore, Zach Cregger, Sam Brown, Darren Trumeter and Timmy Williams won multiple awards and became one of the most beloved comedy groups.
The group was able to crowdfund the budget of the film, Sam Brown at the helm as director. As Sam Brown explains, ““After over a decade of work, we couldn’t be more excited about finally releasing “Whitest Kids U’ Know’s Mars”. As the last project we will ever create with our beloved friend and leader, Trevor Moore, this is more than a movie to us. That being said it is still very dumb and very fun.”
Zach Cregger, Sam Brown, Timmy Williams, Darren Trumeter, and Director Savan Najarian will be attending eight cities to meet and greet with fans.
