With exactly a year to go until the highly-anticipated premiere of The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, the teaser trailer has officially been released.
The Second Quarter Quell awaits.
Based on the book by Suzanne Collins, which was published earlier this year, Sunrise on the Reaping revisits the world of Panem 24 years before the events of The Hunger Games. Chronologically, the film takes place after The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, which explored the story of a young Coriolanus Snow.
Sunrise on the Reaping returns to District 12, telling the origin story of a then 16-year-old Haymitch Abernathy during 50th Annual Hunger Games. Previously portrayed by Woody Harrelson in the original film trilogy, where he served as Katniss Everdeen’s mentor, Joseph Zada steps into the shoes of the young Haymitch.

The film, which is directed by Francis Lawrence, also stars Jesse Plemons, Mckenna Grace, Maya Hawke, Elle Fanning, Kieran Culkin, Whitney Peak, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Lili Taylor, Ben Wang, Edvin Ryding, Glenn Close, Billy Porter, and Iris Apatow. Ralph Fiennes takes on the role of President Snow.
The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping will hit theaters on November 20, 2026.
