‘Project Hail Mary’: Check Out the Newest Trailer!

Share

A brand-new trailer for Project Hail Mary has arrived! And if the first teaser centered on mystery and hinted at what’s to come, this one makes something else very clear: this story was never just about one man saving the world. It’s about connection. It’s about partnership. And yes – it’s about Rocky.

The new footage leans further into the film’s emotional core, highlighting the bond that forms between Ryland Grace (Ryan Gosling) and the alien he encounters, who’s on his own mission to save his planet. The trailer doesn’t hesitate to feature Rocky this time around, and honestly? It shouldn’t. Rocky isn’t a spoiler – he’s the heart of the story. Showing him isn’t giving anything away; it’s setting the stage for the film’s most important relationship.

In the new trailer, we get to see moments of their attempts at communication, hints of teamwork, and even the beginnings of a genuine friendship. It’s refreshing to see the marketing embrace their dynamic rather than hide it behind a “twist.”

Visually, the trailer continues to demonstrate how detailed and beautiful this adaptation is shaping up to be, with stunning shots of space and an interior look at the Hail Mary – Ryland’s ship – which feels functional, worn-in, and believable.

And really, was there ever any doubt with Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (The Lego Movie, the Spider-Verse franchise, and 21 & 22 Jump Street) directing, and Drew Goddard – who also worked on The Martian – penning the screenplay?

If the first trailer aimed to intrigue, this second one seems designed to reassure longtime fans of the book: the movie understands the assignment. Its blend of humor, emotion, tension, and creativity already feels like one of its biggest strengths.

If you’re counting down to release day, this preview only makes the wait feel even longer – in the best way.

Project Hail Mary hits theaters March 20, 2026. Check out the trailer below:
