The official trailer has been released for Given: To the Sea, the second of two films that will close out the hit BL anime series. To the Sea is slated to hit theaters in Japan on September 20.
The trailer, which features a new theme song from centimillimental, promises an emotional ending for the beloved series.
A visual for the film has been revealed as well.
Written and illustrated by Natsuki Kizu, the Given manga ran from 2013 through 2023 (followed by the spin-off timeskip epilogue that premiered earlier this year, Given 10th Mix). The music drama follows the story of the fateful meeting between high school students Ritsuka Uenoyama and Mafuyu Sato. Everything changes for Ritsuka when he hears Mafuyu sing for the first time, leading him to introduce him to the rest of his band — college students Akihiko Kaji and Haruki Nakayama. Given is a boys’ love series that explores the various romantic relationships between its character over the course of several story arcs.
It remains to be seen when the final Given films will get a North American release date. In the meantime, stream the series, first film, and OVA on Crunchyroll!
