‘The Strangers: Chapter 1’ Sets Spring 2024 Premiere
The first installment to a new planned The Strangers trilogy has set a Spring 2024 release date. The Strangers: Chapter 1 is directed by Renny Harlin from a script written by Alan R. Cohen, Alan Freedland, and Bryan Bertino, based on the 2008 film that starred Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman and was both directed and written by Bertino in his feature debut.
The 2024 film will star Madelaine Petsch and Froy Gutierrez, and centers around Petsch’s character as she drives cross-country with her longtime boyfriend (Gutierrez) to begin a new life in the Pacific Northwest. When their car breaks down in Venus, Oregon, they’re forced to spend the night in a secluded Airbnb, where they are terrorized from dusk till dawn by three masked strangers.
The logline reads:
“While on a road trip, a couple become the prey of mysterious masked strangers at their remote vacation rental.”
The Strangers: Chapter 1 will premiere May 17, 2024. Check out the brief teaser that Petsch shared on Instagram below.
