Emo truly rose from its ashes on October 27, as Boys Like Girls, accompanied by The Summer Set and State Champs, headlined at New York City’s prime Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom.

The energy started up with The Summer Set, opening with their hit single, “Street Lightning”. The Warped Tour vibe of crowd surfing and mosh pits continued well into the New York native’s State Champs set.

Enticing the crowd and amping them up for the main attraction, Boys Like Girls finally took the stage for a total of 110 minutes, filling it with every song you prayed they’d play that night. They began their deep-dive into their discography with the ever-popular and powerful fan favorite “Love Drunk”, then ended the night with the soft acoustic version of “Two Is Better Than One”.

Overall the crowd did not stop singing along for the 3 hour-plus show. It is highly recommended that you attend one of their shows to get your pop-punk fix for the year.
