It looks like American Horror Story‘s Evan Peters will be making his way to the Grid in the long-awaited third installment of Disney’s TRON franchise, TRON: Ares.
Peters, whose exact role has yet to be announced, will star alongside Jared Leto. Plot details are still under wraps at this time. Joachim Rønning is set to direct the film, which is due to start production in August.
The first TRON film premiered in 1982, following the story of a computer hacker, Kevin Flynn (Jeff Bridges), who is abducted into a digital world. Decades later, the film was followed by the 2010 sequel, TRON: Legacy, which saw Sam Flynn (Garrett Hedlund) fight his way across the Grid in pursuit of his missing father alongside Olivia Wilde’s Quorra. An animated series that takes place between the two films, TRON: Uprising, was also released in 2012. It remains to be seen if any of the aforementioned cast will be making appearances in Ares.
TRON Lightcycle, a roller coaster ride based on the films, opened its U.S. installation at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom earlier this year.
