FX has announced their summer premiere schedule, with the return of Timothy Olyphant as Raylan Givens in Justified: City Primeval set for a July 18 premiere.

The logline for the return of Justified reads:

“Having left the hollers of Kentucky 15 years ago, Raylan Givens now lives in Miami, a walking anachronism balancing his life as a U.S. Marshal and part-time father of a 15-year-old girl. His hair is grayer, his hat is dirtier, and the road in front of him is suddenly a lot shorter than the road behind. A chance encounter on a desolate Florida highway sends him to Detroit. There he crosses paths with Clement Mansell, aka The Oklahoma Wildman, a violent, sociopathic desperado who’s already slipped through the fingers of Detroit’s finest once and aims to do so again. Mansell’s lawyer, formidable Motor City native Carolyn Wilder, has every intention of representing her client, even as she finds herself caught in between cop and criminal, with her own game afoot as well. These three characters set out on a collision course in classic Elmore Leonard fashion, to see who makes it out of the City Primeval alive.”

Justified: City Primeval is a spin-off of the critically acclaimed series Justified, which originally premiered in 2010, following Deputy U.S. Marshall Givens. The spin-off now expands into the future as Givens helps raise his daughter, though his moderately peaceful Kentucky life is interrupted when he’s forced to go to Detroit to track down The Oklahoma Wildman (Boyd Holbrook).

The spin-off was developed by Dave Andron and Michael Dinner, with both also serving as executive producers alongside Graham Yost, Sarah Timberman, Carl Beverly, Peter Leonard, Taylor Elmore, and Chris Provenzano.

The first two episodes of Justified: City Primeval are set to premiere on July 18 and will be available to stream the following day on Hulu. Stay tuned for updates.
