‘Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio’ Wins Golden Globe

At the 80th annual Golden Globe Awards, Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio won the award for Best Motion Picture — Animated! It was also nominated for Best Original Song and Best Score. The stop motion film has been a passion project for the director and his incredible team of animators and puppeteers, taking years to complete and spending years in development before its premiere in 2022. Pinocchio retells the classic fairytale story by setting it in fascist Italy, exploring themes of grief and love.

Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio is available to watch now on Netflix along with a documentary on its creation.
