With today’s premiere of the action-packed, emotional finale of Lucasfilm’s latest Star Wars series, Andor, some audiences may be left wondering if this is the last that we’ve seen of the show’s titular star and the array of captivating characters that we’ve met along the way.

Andor sees the return of Diego Luna as Cassian Andor, exploring a new perspective from the Star Wars galaxy. The series focuses on Cassian’s journey to discover the difference he can make. The series brings forward the tale of the burgeoning rebellion against the Empire and how people and planets became involved. It’s an era filled with danger, deception and intrigue where Cassian will embark on the path that is destined to turn him into a rebel hero.

For those hoping to see more of the story leading up to how exactly this disillusioned man went on to become Captain Cassian Andor, worry not, because the show is indeed getting a second season (and it recently began production)! As revealed by Collider, season 2 of Andor is slated to be filming up through August 2023.

Season 1 of Andor is set five years before the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, in which Cassian and Jyn Erso led a team to steal the plans to the Death Star. While the first season covered a relatively short period of time, showrunner Tony Gilroy has confirmed that there’s a time jump coming — the 12-episode second season will begin a year after the finale, covering the final four years of time leading directly up to Rogue One.

In addition to all that went down in the finale, the episode also contained a post-credits scene, which we explained here.

The entire first season of Andor is now streaming exclusively on Disney+. Catch up on all of our episodic recaps here.
