Lizzo brought an abundance of positivity and self-love to her sold-out stop at Seattle’s Climate Pledge Arena recently. Fans were dressed to the nines, buying themed “About Damn Time” cocktails available from the arena and “U R SPECIAL” shirts from merch stands.

Latto opened up the show, known for her song “Big Energy.” She used her platform to bring attention to women’s rights issues with videos of protests for abortion rights and her dancers carrying signs that said “protect women’s rights,” “pussy,” and “my body my choice.”

When Lizzo asked, “When was the last time you said something nice about yourself?” the crowd groaned with guilt. But a young woman up front showed everyone up when she said she was better than everyone, cracking Lizzo up, “Maybe she’s been listening to too much Lizzo, maybe she needs to wean off.”

If you watched Lizzo’s Watch Out for the Big Grrrls, available on Prime Video, you will recognize a few of her backup dancers. Asia Banks, Kiara Mooring, Ashley Williams, and Arianna Davis all competed on the show and are now out on the Special Tour tearing up the stage each night.

Lizzo stated some important words before she left the stage and something that we should all remember to do more often; “Be kind to each other, but most importantly, be kind to yourself.”

With the US leg of the Special Tour ending on November 19th, Lizzo announced that she and Latto will be coming back for additional US dates after Lizzo’s European stops in 2023. If you missed them this time around, there will be another chance next year!
