With Christmas just around the corner, there are plenty of new family friendly holiday movies available to watch, but Christmas With The Campbells will not be one of them. From the trailer, viewers will notice the film takes the traditional holiday romance and subverts it by injecting the film with raunchy, realistic humor.
The official synopsis for the film reads:
“The traditional holiday romance movie, from the writer of You Light Up My Christmas and the director of The Christmas Bow, gets a little more fun this year with a spin from co-writers Vince Vaughn (Couples Retreat) and Dan Lagana (“American Vandal”). In Christmas with The Campbells, when Jesse gets dumped right before the holidays by her boyfriend Shawn, his parents convince her to still spend Christmas with them, and Shawn’s handsome cousin, while Shawn is away.“
Christmas With The Campbells stars Brittany Snow, Justin Long, Alex Moffat, Julia Duffy, George Wendt, and JoAnna Garcia Swisher. The film is written by Barbara Kymlicka, Vince Vaughn, and Dan Lagana, and directed by Clare Niederpruem.
