HBO’s ‘The Batman’ Penguin Spin-Off Series Adds Cristin Milioti

The previously announced The Batman spin-off series for HBO based on Colin Farrell’s Oswald Cobblepot — aka The Penguin — has added Cristin Milioti to the cast.

Milioti will portray Sofia Falcone, the daughter of Gotham crime boss Carmine Falcone. In The Batman, Oswald acts as Carmine’s righthand man, though as we saw at the end of the film, the power dynamics in the city are about to go through a massive shift. Sofia has only been featured in one other live-action portrayal by Crystal Reed for the Gotham series.

The series, which is still under the working name The Penguin, will feature the return of Farrell to the character. Plot details for the series remain under wraps, but earlier this month Farrell confirmed in an interview with Extra that the series starts one week after the events of the film and that the city is still (at least partially) underwater.

The series will be executive produced by Reeves, Dylan Clark, Farrell, Daniel Pipski, Adam Kassanand, and Lauren LeFranc. LeFranc, who previously wrote for Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., will also serve as the showrunner for this project.

The Penguin does not currently have a release date. Stay tuned with Nerds & Beyond for updates.
