‘Chicago P.D.’: Jesse Lee Soffer Returning to Direct
Detective Jay Halstead may have left the Intelligence Unit to help with the Army and run his own unit in Bolivia, but Jesse Lee Soffer has been very much still attached to the series. Amidst fan outcry following his exit and while he’s been spotted on set behind the scenes since filming his last episode, it’s been confirmed that Soffer will direct an upcoming episode for Chicago P.D.‘s 10th season!
According to an exclusive from Variety, Soffer will direct episode 16 of season 10, which will air sometime in early 2023. There haven’t been details released about the episode yet, but that will likely be released closer to the episode’s premiere date, which has also yet to be announced.
Soffer portrayed Jay Halstead since the beginning of Chicago P.D. in 2014 and even recurred at the beginning of season 2 of Chicago Fire prior to P.D.‘s premiere. His departure was initially announced in August, and his final episode (hopefully for now) aired earlier this month.
New episodes of Chicago P.D. return Wednesday, November 2 at 10 p.m. EST on NBC. Check back here for more news!
