As part of Netflix’s TUDUM: A Global Fan Event, legendary director Guillermo del Toro offered a special look at the stop-motion animation required to bring his latest masterpiece Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio to life. The beautiful handmade puppets and sets will help tell Pinocchio’s story, which in this version takes place in 1930s Fascist Italy. del Toro has tried for years to have the project made, with the earliest announcement as far back as 2008.

Ewan McGregor will star as Cricket with David Bradley as Geppetto and Gregory Mann as Pinocchio. It also stars Christoph Waltz, Tilda Swinton, Finn Wolfhard, Ron Perlman, Tim Blake Nelson, Burn Gorman, Cate Blanchett, and John Turturro.
