Lionsgate Announces ‘Saw 10’ and Sets Release Date

Jigsaw has no plans on stopping his games, as Bloody Disgusting has announced that a tenth Saw movie is on the way from Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures! The latest installment of the long-running horror franchise is currently set to release on October 27, 2023.

Franchise alum Kevin Greutert will direct the movie. Prior to the upcoming installment, Greutert worked primarily as an editor for the franchise for Saw 1-5 and Jigsaw. He also directed Saw VI and Saw: The Final Chapter, as well as executive produced Spiral: From the Book of Saw.

The Saw 10 announcement follows just over a year after the release of Spiral, the most recent ninth installment. Spiral also saw the return of the franchise’s Darren Lynn Bousman. It follows Detective Zeke Banks as he and his partner, William, and Zeke’s father Marcus teamed up to find a serial killer terrorizing the city. While the movie was largely reminiscent of its predecessors, it brought on a new cast to offer a fresh take on the franchise.

There’s currently no cast or plot information available for Saw 10, though it will be interesting to see if it picks up from the threads left by Spiral or change directions completely. Either way, Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures have confirmed it will include “all-new twisted, ingenious traps and a new mystery to solve.”

While we await further information about Saw 10, check out our Spiral review.
