Netflix has released the first trailer for Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio, a new stop motion animated film from the iconic horror director. Pinocchio will follow the titular wooden marionette, who is magically brought to life in order to mend the heart of a grieving woodcarver named Geppetto in 1930s Fascist Italy. Ewan McGregor will star as Cricket with David Bradley as Geppetto and Gregory Mann as Pinocchio. The film has been a passion project of del Toro’s for years, having been officially in development since 2008.

Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio will premiere in theaters this November before hitting Netflix in December. It also stars Christoph Waltz, Tilda Swinton, Finn Wolfhard, Ron Perlman, Tim Blake Nelson, Burn Gorman, Cate Blanchett, and John Turturro. Check out the gorgeous new teaser below!
