San Diego Comic-Con is in full swing, and a rush of news is now rolling in from the famed Hall H as the highly anticipated Marvel Studios panel takes place. President of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige took to the stage to announce that Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will soon be coming to an end with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Following that news, the official release timeline for Phase 5 was shown, revealing the official title and release date for the upcoming fourth Captain America film.

Referencing the title of the first episode of the Disney+ series The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, the film will be called Captain America: New World Order. Audiences will have to wait a while yet, though, because the movie is due to arrive in back end of Phase 5, currently scheduled for a theatrical release on May 3, 2024.

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier saw Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson take on the role of Captain America, following the events of Avengers: Endgame, in which Steve Rogers passed on the mantle and his iconic vibranium shield to his friend. It remains to be seen what the plot of New World Order will entail and which characters will be making appearances, such as the potential return of Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes.

Stay tuned for more news on Captain America: New World Order.
