Netflix Sets Premiere Dates For ‘Netflix Is A Joke: The Festival’ Highlights

Today Netflix announced that they will showcase highlights from their 11-day stand-up comedy festival, Netflix Is A Joke: The Festival, on the streaming service beginning this month.

The first-ever Netflix Is A Joke: The Festival featured a wide range of comedians — over 300 in total in an astounding 288 shows across 35 various venues across Los Angeles. The festival made headlines with several of the performances and there are several reasons to check out the month worth of content coming from the festival — from Pete Davidson’s commentary on Kanye West’s social media behavior to touching tributes to legendary late comedians, there’s probably something funny for everyone in the lineup.

The specials and their respective premiere dates follow:

  • May 19 – The Hall: Honoring the Greats of Stand-Up — John Mulaney honors Robin Williams, Dave Chappelle honors Richard Pryor, Chelsea Handler honors Joan Rivers, and Jon Stewart honors George Carlin.
  • June 6 – Bill Burr Presents: Friends Who Kill — a showcase featuring a variety of stand-ups comics specifically curated by Burr.
  • June 7 and 12 – That’s My Time with David Letterman — six total episodes that each spotlight one comedian, including a five-minute stand-up set and conversation with Letterman.
  • June 9 – Stand Out: An LGBTQ+ Celebration — the largest-ever gathering of LGBTQ+ comedians.
  • June 10 – A Tribute to Bob Saget — a celebration of Saget’s life in comedy featuring his friends and family.
  • June 11 – Amy Schumer’s Parental Advisory — another showcase, this time featuring stand-up comics curated by Schumer.
  • June 13 – Pete Davidson Presents: The Best Friends — a special hosted and curated by Davidson featuring multiple comedians.
  • June 14 – Jane Fonda & Lily Tomlin: Ladies Night Live — Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda introduce an all-female variety of comedians.
  • June 16 – Snoop Dogg’s F*cn Around Comedy Special — original comedy from Snoop himself, along with sets from multiple legendary black comedians.
  • June 23 – Best of the Festival — highlights from throughout the 11-day event.
