Warning: Spoilers ahead for last night’s episode of Riverdale, “Chapter One Hundred and Seven: In the Fog.”
The CW’s Riverdale is expanding its cast once again! Billions star Caroline Day has joined the series in a recurring role.
Per Deadline, who first reported the news, Day will portray Heather, a Greendale librarian. If the name sounds familiar, it’s because it should. Heather is also Cheryl’s rumored junior high sweetheart. Fans first heard of the character when Cheryl came out to Toni in season 2, and just recently, in the newest episode of Riverdale when Penelope gave her daughter dozens of letters written by Heather, addressed to Cheryl.
Cheryl will track down Heather on social media and get in touch with her, which doesn’t fair well with Nana Rose. After Heather re-enters Cheryl’s life, she shares “secret knowledge” that could help Cheryl better understand her newfound fire powers.
Aside from recurring in the previous two seasons of Showtime’s Billions, Caroline Day can also be seen in the films The Goldfinch and The Equalizer 2 in supporting roles.
It’s not known when Day will first show up on Riverdale, but considering the letters that Cheryl went through, it could be sooner rather than later. New episodes air on Sundays at 8 p.m. EST on The CW! Check out our other Riverdale coverage here.
