Disney+’s National Treasure series is ramping into full gear, and a familiar face is returning to the franchise. Justin Bartha, who plays Riley Poole in the National Treasure movies, will reprise his role in the upcoming series. Details about Riley’s return remain under wraps, though it’s likely he’ll offer up his tech skills to the next generation of treasure hunters.

The National Treasure series will follow a new protagonist, Jess. She is described as “a brilliant and resourceful DREAMer” who sets out to uncover the mysteries of her family’s history while also searching for a lost Pan-American treasure. It is set to be an “expansion” of the movies while also reimagining it for a new audience.

Lisette Olivera plays the lead role of Jess. Other cast includes Catherine Zeta-Jones, Jake Austin Walker, Lyndon Smith, Zuri Reed, Antonio Cipriano, and Jordan Rodrigues. Cormac and Marianne Wibberley return as writers and executive producers alongside Jerry Bruckheimer and Jon Turteltaub, who also produced the movies. Jonathan Littman, KristieAnne Reid, and Rick Muirragui executive produce. Mira Nair is set to direct.

There’s currently no projected release date, though filming is currently underway. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available. In the meantime, stream National Treasure and National Treasure: Book of Secrets now on Disney+.
