The Boys is based on the comic book series by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. The show is is an irreverent take on what happens when superheroes — as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians, and as revered as gods — abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good. It’s the powerless against the superpowerful as The Boys embark on a heroic quest to expose the truth about “The Seven” and their formidable Vought backing.

The second season of The Boys sees Butcher, Hughie, and the team reel from their losses in season 1. On the run from the law, they struggle to fight back against the superheroes. Meanwhile, Vought, the hero management company, cashes in on the panic over supervillains; and a new hero, Stormfront, shakes up the company and challenges an already unstable Homelander.

The cast of seasons 1 and 2 of The Boys includes Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, Nathan Mitchell, Elisabeth Shue, Colby Minifie, and Aya Cash.

The first three episodes of season 3 of The Boys will land exclusively on Prime Video on June 3. This upcoming season will see the introduction of several new faces, including Jensen Ackles, Laurie Holden, Katia Winter, Miles Gaston Villanueva, Sean Patrick Flanery, Nick Wechsler, Frances Turner, Kristin Booth, and Jack Doolan. The first season 3 teaser trailer was released last month, and we broke down the details of it here.

Stay tuned for all of our continued coverage on The Boys, including episodic recaps, reviews, and more! In the meantime, make sure to check out The Boys Presents: Diabolical, an animated anthology series that’s just as wonderfully chaotic as its live-action counterpart.

Note: An earlier version of this article listed the release date as May 17. This information has since been updated.
