Oscar Isaac to Host ‘Saturday Night Live’

With just over a month to go until Oscar Isaac takes on his latest Marvel role as Marc Spector in the upcoming Disney+ series Moon Knight, it has been announced that he will finally be making his Saturday Night Live hosting debut on March 5!

Isaac appeared on Saturday Night Live as a special guest during Jason Sudeikis’ Halloween episode last October, but this will be his first time taking on hosting duties for the late-night comedy show. He’ll be joined by musical guest Charli XCX.

Isaac touts a lengthy filmography, one that spans far beyond his star status as Resistance pilot Poe Dameron in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, offering up gems like the Coen brothers’ Inside Llewyn Davis, the HBO miniseries Show Me a Hero, and J.C. Chandor’s A Most Violent Year. The actor had an incredibly busy 2021, churning out killer performances in The Card Counter, Dune, and Scenes from a Marriage, and he still has plenty more booked and on the way.

Next week, fans can catch Isaac alongside Emory Cohen, Andy Garcia, Megan Fox, and Lucy Hale in Big Gold Brick when it premieres on February 25. Written and directed by Brian Petsos, the film recounts the story of fledgling writer Samuel Liston and his experiences with Floyd Deveraux, the enigmatic middle-aged father of two who enlists Samuel to write his biography. But the circumstances that lead up to this arrangement in the first place are quite astonishing — and efforts to write the biography are quickly stymied by ensuing chaos in this darkly comedic, genre-bending film.

Then, on March 30, Moon Knight will make its way to Disney+. Isaac stars as Steven Grant, a mild-mannered gift-shop employee, who becomes plagued with blackouts and memories of another life. Steven discovers he has dissociative identity disorder and shares a body with mercenary Marc Spector. As Steven/Marc’s enemies converge upon them, they must navigate their complex identities while thrust into a deadly mystery among the powerful gods of Egypt. Other cast members include Ethan Hawke as Arthur Harrow, F. Murray Abraham as the voice of Khonshu, and May Calamawy. Stay tuned for all of our Moon Knight coverage.

Saturday Night Live airs on NBC on Saturdays at 8:30 p.m. PT/11:30 p.m. ET.
