Lily James and Sebastian Stan appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night ahead of the premiere of their new limited series, Pam & Tommy.
Pam & Tommy is set in the “Wild West” early days of the internet, following the infamous true story of the sex tape of Pamela Anderson (James) and Tommy Lee (Stan). After it was stolen from the couple’s home by a disgruntled contractor (Seth Rogen), the video evolved from an underground bootleg-VHS curiosity to a full-blown global sensation once it made its way onto the web in 1997.
James and Stan chatted with Kimmel about all things Pam & Tommy, including James’ lack of eyebrows on set versus Stan’s lack of clothing throughout the show. They reflected on their excitement for people to learn things they may not have known about the story of the sex tape and how terrifying it was to portray real life people. In order to properly mimic Anderson and Lee’s voices, both actors made a habit of screaming into pillows between scenes (and Stan also did some solo karaoke to Mötley Crüe and Billy Joel). Stan revealed a set of steel balls “used” for his role, presenting them to Kimmel. Both also discussed how this was their first time working with Seth Rogen and one another and how they stayed in-character while on set.

This eight-part Hulu Original Series is a love story, a crime caper, and a cautionary tale that explores the intersection of privacy, technology and celebrity by tracing the origins of the world’s current Reality TV Era back to a stolen tape that was seen by millions but meant to have an audience of just two.
The first three episodes of Pam & Tommy are now streaming exclusively on Hulu in the United States, on Disney+ under the Star hub internationally, and on Star+ in Latin America. The remaining five episodes will premiere on a weekly basis, with the next set to arrive on February 9. Read our review of the series here.
