‘South Park: Post Covid: The Return of Covid’ Coming to Paramount+ December 16

It’s another pandemic special. Paramount+ announced Wednesday that the second this year’s South Park events is coming next week, December 16, 2021. South Park: Post Covid: The Return of Covid will premiere in the United States and Canada on the 16, and will roll out in the Nordics, Latin America and Australia throughout the month of December.

Part one to the exclusive events, Post Covid, released on Thanksgiving Day and is now available to stream on Paramount+. Post Covid had a record-setting first day for the streaming service to date for all movies and series.

If Stan, Kyle, and Cartman can figure out a way to work together, they could go back in time to make sure Covid never happens. Not only will Covid never happen, but they could save their friend Kenny’s life. In the future, traveling back to the past seems to be the east answer … until they meet Victor Chaos.

South Park co-creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone are executive producers, along with Anne Garefino and Frank C. Agnone II. Eric Stough, Adrien Beard, Bruce Howell and Vernon Chatman are producers. Christopher Brion is the creative director of South Park Digital Studios.

MTV Entertainment Studios’ 2021 deal with Parker and Stone includes extending South Park on Comedy Central through 2027, taking the title of cable’s longest-running scripted series. South Park will celebrate a 25th anniversary on August 13. In addition to the unprecedented series extension (30 seasons), the new deal includes 14 original South Park made-for-streaming events exclusively for Paramount+, including this year’s South Park: Post Covid and South Park: Post Covid: The Return of Covid.
