Walt Disney Animation Studios has released concept art and details about their upcoming new movie, Strange World.

The original action-adventure follows a legendary family of explorers, the Clades. Set in a wondrous yet dangerous land filled with fantastical creatures, the families’ differences “threaten to topple their latest—and by far— most crucial mission.”

It is directed by Don Hall (Big Hero 6, Raya and the Last Dragon) and co-directed and written by Qui Nguyen (Raya and the Last Dragon). It will also be produced by Roy Conli (Big Hero 6, Tangled).

In a press release, Hall explained that Strange World has been inspired by pulp magazines: “I loved reading the old issues of pulps growing up. They were big adventures in which a group of explorers might discover a hidden world or ancient creatures,” Hall stated.

Strange World will be released November 23, 2022. Make sure you check back here for all of the latest news.
