Television nominations for the 27th Annual Critics Choice Awards were announced today, with four rolling in for Apple TV+’s hit comedy series Ted Lasso.
Ted Lasso follows the story of a small-time college football coach from Kansas — portrayed by Jason Sudeikis — hired to coach a professional soccer team in England, despite having no experience coaching soccer. However, what Ted lacks in experience, he makes up for with his infectiously positive attitude and endless determination.
Nominations for the series include:
- Best Comedy Series
- Best Actor in a Comedy Series – Jason Sudeikis
- Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series – Hannah Waddingham
- Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series – Brett Goldstein
Apple TV+ received nine nominations in total.
The winners of the 27th Annual Critics Choice Awards will be revealed at the star-studded Critics Choice Awards gala, which will broadcast live on The CW and TBS on Sunday, January 9 from 7 to 10 p.m. ET (delayed PT).
Ted Lasso has been storming the awards circuit over the course of two seasons thus far, including 7 wins at the 73rd Emmys this year.
Seasons 1 and 2 of Ted Lasso are now streaming exclusively on Apple TV+, and a third season is on the way. In the meantime, catch up on all of our Ted Lasso coverage here, including our review of season 2.
