Randall Park To Star In Blockbuster Video Store Comedy Series

For those of us old enough to remember Blockbuster video, get ready for a blast from the past. Randall Park (WandaVision) is set to star in a 10-episode series from Netflix set in the last remaining Blockbuster store.

Created by Superstore and Brooklyn Nine-Nine alum Vanessa Ramos, the ensemble comedy will take place in the last Blockbuster in America and explore what it takes for a small business to succeed against all odds. David Caspe and Jackie Clarke will also serve as writers and executive producers. Blockbuster has also given the rights for the store’s logo and uniforms to be used for the series.

“To say getting to make a show about a place I love, with my friends Jackie and David, and Randall Park as our star is a dream come true, somehow feels like an understatement,” Ramos said. “I could not be more grateful to Jim and Megan at Universal for supporting this project since day one and Tracey, Andy, and the whole team at Netflix for being on board with so many weird jokes.”

The last Blockbuster in America, located in Bend, Oregon, was the subject of the 2020 documentary The Last Blockbuster.

Get ready for some nostalgia! No release date for the series has been estimated.
