Take a Stab at This Killer ‘Dexter’ Gift Guide

5 Min Read

The holiday season is upon us. With supply chain issues aplenty, it’s never too early to start shopping for gifts. Today’s gift guide centers on Showtime’s hit series Dexter, whose revival, Dexter: New Blood, is right around the corner. If you have a Dexter fan in your life and aren’t sure what to get them, read on for a few ideas.

Dexter Book Series by Jeff Lindsay

Vintage Crime/Black Lizard

If the Dexpert in your life happens to love reading as much as they do watching Dexter, you’re in luck. The show is adapted from Jeff Lindsay’s book series. With eight books total, Lindsay’s series offers even more (and different) Dexter stories to get lost in, with many of the same characters. The books are perfect for any Dexter fan wanting more. All of the books are available for purchase here. Pair the series with this fitting blood spatter bookmark from MindyLovesResinArt on Etsy.

The Complete Series on DVD

In this modern day and age, streaming the series is all well and good. But your Dexpert deserves the best. Does streaming offer all those extra bonus features and commentaries? They sure don’t. So, what better way to give that special person in your life the full experience than to spoil them with the full series – bonus features and all – on DVD. Purchase the boxset here or from your preferred retailer.

The Signature Henley

Peter Iovino/Showtime

Dexter Morgan is one of the easiest characters to cosplay. And if the Dexter fan in your life is prepping for next Halloween or even a comic con, gifting part of the signature look is the best way to go. One option mimics the above photo: the camouflage green Henley from Hanes. A second option is the olive green Henley from Goodthreads, more closely related to this version of the outfit. Either way, not only does this shirt work for any Dexter cosplay, but it’s also practical for everyday wear. (And as someone who owns a Henley, it’s very comfortable. No wonder it’s Dexter’s shirt of choice.)

Dexter Ultimate Stocking Stuffer Bundle from Showtime

If you need an easy stocking stuffer, look no further. Showtime has you covered. This fan bundle from Dexter’s home network offers four stocking-worthy items. The plastic syringe pen is a great nod to Dexter’s MO. It comes with three die-cut stickers every Dexpert needs to show off their enthusiasm for the show. You can purchase the bundle straight from the Showtime store.

Dexter’s Ice Truck Killer Keychain

One of the most recognizable items from the show is the dismembered Barbie doll the Ice Truck Killer left for Dexter… which Dexter then used as a keychain. (Questionable, but we’ll allow it.) Now, your Dexpert can also carry around their own Barbie head keychain just like Dexter! This replica comes from RainbowCatStore on Etsy. They also offer a complementing arm keychain, complete, of course, with multi-colored fingernails.

Soap Bar Set

Hygiene is important, so why not treat the Dexter fan in your life to this clever soap bar set from Char Bar Crafts. The two-bar set features the hand from the Ice Truck Killer case, painted nails included. The second is a bloody bar (of course). Both soaps are 4 oz. Per the item description, the seller uses aloe vera, shea butter, mango butter, and cocoa butter. Fragrance-free options are available.

Dexter’s Laminate

Every Dexter fan knows the blood spatter analyst doesn’t wield a badge. He has a laminate. Now, you can purchase a screen-accurate replica for your Dexpert from Good Game Props & Collectibles. Along with Dexter, ID badges for the rest of Miami Metro are also available. These badges are a nice touch to any cosplay, or just to display with other Dexter merch.

Heavy Duty Plastic Wrap

For when… just kidding. Don’t buy this for someone. No matter how much they love the show. We don’t want to send the wrong message.

Stay tuned for more gift guides! Tune in to Dexter: New Blood this Sunday, November 7, at 9 p.m. ET on Showtime. Keep up with all our Dexter coverage here.
