Mike Mills’ C’mon C’mon with Joaquin Phoenix will officially make its world premiere at the 48th annual Telluride Film Festival.

In C’Mon C’mon, Phoenix’s character Johnny is a radio journalist who watches his nephew Jesse (Woody Norman) while his mother (Gaby Hoffmann) tends to the child’s father suffering from mental health issues. Over the course of their cross-country trip from Los Angeles to New Orleans, they forge an unexpected bond.

Telluride Film Festival runs from September 2-6 in Telluride, Colorado. The festival will screen more than 80 feature films, short films, and revival programs representing 29 countries. There will also be special artist tributes, conversations, panels, student programs, and festivities.

After its run at TFF, C’Mon C’mon will head to The New York Film Festival at the end of September.
