Mike Flanagan, known for his work on horror titles such as Doctor Sleep, The Haunting of Bly Manor, and The Haunting of Hill House, has another project in the works — Midnight Mass. The teasers for this highly anticipated series have finally begun rolling in.

Midnight Mass tells the story of a community that experiences miraculous events and frightening omens after a mysterious priest’s arrival. Though minimal information is known about the series at this time, it’s worth noting that in Flanagan’s 2016 slasher film Hush, Kate Siegel’s character is an author with a book entitled Midnight Mass. The book is then later seen in Flanagan’s 2017 film Gerald’s Game.

A vague and cryptic video featuring a ferry to a place called Crockett Island was posted yesterday by the Haunting anthology series Twitter account.

Today, another brief teaser video was posted with shots of a quiet, stormy town.

While fans were quick to wonder if Midnight Mass is meant to be a continuation of the Haunting anthology, Flanagan confirmed in a tweet that there are no plans for a new Haunting series. And if there was any question at all as to if these teasers are definitely for Midnight Mass, Flanagan also shared the above video with a telling message: “Getting closer to midnight…”

With two teasers over the course of two days back to back, we can only assume that more news about Midnight Mass‘s release is right around the corner. Stay tuned!
