History Is All You Left Me follows Griffin, reeling from a sudden death. After his first love and ex, Theo, drowns, his world implodes. Though the two broke up, Griffin believed Theo would return — despite dating someone else, Jackson. After Theo’s death, Griffin realizes the only person who understands him is Jackson. While they open up to each other, Griffin finds himself spiralling more and more.

Told through the past and present, History Is All You Left Me is a searing examination of love and grief. Silvera writes an honest portrayal of mental illness, heartache, love, and (at times) joy. He expertly navigates the complexities of relationships — with others, ourselves, and the occasional unfairness of life.

Silvera is the #1 New York Times bestselling author of They Both Die at the End (TBDATE). His other solo work includes More Happy Than Not, Infinity Son, and Infinity Reaper. He is currently adapting TBDATE and MHTN for television. He co-authored What If It’s Us with Albertalli. The sequel, Here’s to Us, releases December 28.
