The Doctor is on his way to FanExpo Dallas and Megacon Orlando this year, as both conventions announce Christopher Eccleston as a celebrity guest.

An English actor, Eccleston is best known for his portrayal of the ninth incarnation of the Doctor in the 2005 revival of the BBC favorite Doctor Who. Eccleston gathered widespread acclaim for the role, winning a National Television Award and receiving Broadcasting Press Guild Award and BAFTA Cymru Award nominations for his performance, despite only filling the role for a single series. He has recently reprised the role for a selection of Doctor Who audio dramas for the BBC that came out just last month.

Eccleston has also appeared in television series including Heroes, The Shadow Line, Lucan, and The A Word, as well as films like G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra and Thor: The Dark World.

For both MegaCon and FanExpo Dallas, Eccleston is set to appear on Saturday. Photo ops will be available for $100 and autographs for $90. Additionally, while the conventions have not announced any panels yet, fans will certainly get a chance to see the star in action.

Both conventions faced delays and ultimately cancellation in 2020 and are now set to take place August 12-15 (MegaCon) and September 17-19 (FanExpo). Eccleston joins stars including Brendan Fraser, Dave Bautista, William Shatner, George Takei, and the four hobbits (Elijah Wood, Sean Astin, Dominic Monaghan, and Billy Boyd) as a celebrity guest for the events. However, if these names don’t quite hit the spot for you, don’t worry! We can still expect more guest announcements over the coming months.

Be sure to check back here for updates as we get closer to the dates, and make sure to visit the MegaCon Orlando and FanExpo Dallas websites to buy your tickets.
