Mason Gooding (Love, Victor) and Ariel Winter (Modern Family) have joined the cast of the upcoming indie film Pools. They join the previously announced Odessa A’zion, Tyler Alvarez, and Michael Vlamis. Deadline was first to report.

Pools follows college sophomore Kennedy, who finds herself stuck in summer school after flunking her second year. In the middle of a heat wave, Kennedy rallies a small crew to pool-hop through a wealthy neighborhood. Soon, what was meant to be a night of fun turns into one of self-discovery.

Gooding is set to play Reed, “the beating heart of the party” who’s searching for a good time and a new start after his dreams of joining the NFL are destroyed. Winter will play Delaney, the pot-stirrer of the group. Though she has a tough and competitive spirit, all she wants is to get her best friend back.

Pools is written and directed by Sam Hayes. There’s currently no projected release date, but production is scheduled to begin in Chicago later this month.
