George A. Romero’s ‘The Amusement Park’ to Headline Shudders Summer Lineup

Summer is around the corner, and things are heating up at Shudder, AMC Networks’ premium streaming service. Dedicated to horror, thriller, and the supernatural, Shudder has released its 2021 Summer of Chills movie lineup.

The horror lineup consists of twelve new original and exclusive films running from June to August. Shudder has announced that The Amusement Park, the lost film from legendary director George A. Romero will kick off the summer slate. The film will debut on the streaming service on Tuesday, June 8.

Shudder’s Summer of Chills lineup has something for everyone, including new premieres every week. Below is the full list in chronological order.

Caveat – Premieres June 3 (A Shudder Original Film)

“Lone drifter Isaac accepts a job to look after his landlord’s niece, Olga, for a few days in an isolated house on a remote island. It seems like easy money, but there’s a catch: he must wear a leather harness and chain that restricts his movements to certain rooms. Once Olga’s uncle, Barrett leaves the two of them alone, a game of cat and mouse ensues as Olga displays increasingly erratic behavior as a trapped Isaac makes a series of horrific discoveries in the house.”

Restored after 46 years by the George A. Romero Foundation, The Amusement Park follows the story of an older man, who finds himself disoriented and increasingly isolated as the pains, tragedies, and humiliations of aging in America, are turned into a hellish nightmare through roller coasters and chaotic crowds. The “lost” film was restored in 4k by IndieCollect in New York City.
