The cast and creators of the Netflix original Never Have I Ever are banding together to give viewers a special treat and raise awareness for a good cause!
On Saturday, May 8 at 2:30 p.m. PT/5:30 p.m. ET, Netflix will host a live table read of the show, as well as give viewers a sneak peek of what’s to come in season 2. The main goal of the table read is to raise awareness and support for GiveIndia, an organization providing COVID-19 relief to India. Never Have I Ever is a Netflix original series created by Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher. It follows Devi Vishwakumar, a first generation Indian-American high schooler reeling from the sudden death of her father. Season 1 focuses on Devi reacclimating to school along with her best friends Fabiola and Eleanor.
When viewers last saw Devi, she had recently learned that her mother wants to move to India, and she also finds herself trying to choose between Ben and Paxton (and I, personally, am leaning towards #TeamBen). Season 2 will pick up with her working through her decision, most likely find her dealing with the India news, and will also give her mother, Nalini, a chance to explore her personal and professional life more.
The show stars Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Lee Rodriguez, Ramona Young, Poorna Jagannathan, Darren Barnet, Richa Moorjani, and Jaren Lewison. Season 2 will welcome Common, Megan Suri, and Tyler Alvarez in recurring roles.
Season 2 of Never Have I Ever will release on Netflix this July. Find the rest of our coverage here, and stay tuned for more updates.
