Steven Strait (The Expanse) is set to star in Mike Lè Han’s high concept sci-fi thriller Five Below. Deadline was the first to report the news.

There aren’t many details at this time as to who Strait will play or even what the film will entail, but according to Deadline it will take on “the meta human sci-fi genre.” It is also being reported that a sequel is already in development! Liam Finn and Lè Han are set to produce and it is written by Nick Brown. Production on the project is set to begin this summer.

Strait is no stranger to the sci-fi genre, currently starring as Jim Holden on Amazon Prime’s The Expanse based on the novel series of the aforementioned name by James S. A. Corey (Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck). The series is set hundreds of years into the future when humanity has colonized the Solar System. The humans doing this hasn’t exactly solved much of anything. Some moved to Mars and many formed the OPA (Outer Planets Alliance), and the group is perecived very differently depending on if you’re part of the belters or Earth and Mars.
