Just a few weeks ago it was announced that The Walking Dead would be returning for its 11th and final season earlier than expected. Originally slated to premiere in the fall, AMC announced that the season would be moving up to the summer. Now, during the season 10 finale “Here’s Negan,” a teaser was shown and it revealed that the show will return on August 22.

The teaser gives a greater glimpse into The Commonwealth, the armored soldiers that kidnapped Princess, Ezekiel, Eugene, and Yumiko in “A Certain Doom” while they were on a mission to find Stephanie, Eugene’s radio companion.

It was already revealed that Michael James Shaw would be joining the upcoming season as Mercer. In the comics, the character was introduced in the final two dozen issues as a commander in The Commonwealth army and Princess’s boyfriend.

Check out the teaser below.
