Dust, the sci-fi entertainment brand by Gunpowder and Sky, have announced that they have acquired worldwide rights to the 4K HDR documentary, AWAKEN. The documentary will be available on digital platforms April 9, 2021.
The exquisite 75-minute documentary explores humanities relationships with both the technological and natural worlds. It has an inspiring message and was shot over five years in over 30 countries. The documentary uses time-lapse, slow-motion, underwater and aerial cinematography, alongside the narration by the soothing voice of Liv Tyler (Lord of the Rings, 9-1-1: Lone Star), making this an unforgettable experience.
AWAKEN was directed, shot and produced by Tom Lowe (Timescapes). It was executive produced by Terrence Malick (The Tree of Life, The Thin Red Line) and Godfrey Reggio (Koyaanisqatsi). The beautiful imagery will also be accompanied by a score composed by Joseph Trapanese (The Greatest Showman, Tron: Legacy).
